BRICLab

BRICLab
at the Center on Global Economy and Governance

The BRICLab, housed at the Center on Global Economy and Governance (CGEG) at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), provides an opportunity for students and professionals from four of the world’s largest economies – Brazil, Russia, India and China, to examine their countries’ increasing influence in global affairs. BRICLab offers a combination of special programs, sessions with guest speakers, and conferences for policymakers, business and academic leaders, and students.

As part of BRICLab, the Center offers a 14-week Visiting Scholar Program for Brazilian journalists, fostering independent research, engagement with distinguished faculty, both inside and outside of the classroom, and knowledge sharing. Since its start in 2014, CGEG has hosted 12 high-level journalists from some of Brazil’s most influential media outlets. The program has been directed by Christian Deseglise, Adjunct Professor at SIPA, and Marcos Troyjo, President of the New Development Bank and Adjunct Professor at SIPA.

For more than 70 years, SIPA has been a leader in tackling global issues through research, hands-on practice and expert faculty making it the perfect home for BRICLab.
