The World Bank’s World Development Report is an invaluable guide to the economic, social, and environmental state of the world today. Each report provides in-depth analysis and policy recommendations on a specific and important aspect of development—from agriculture, the role of the state, transition economies, and labor to infrastructure, health, the environment, and poverty.
With this workshop, Columbia SIPA’s Center on Global Economic Governance, Cornell University and the World Bank WDR Team will convene the Report authors, alongside Columbia and Cornell faculty, for a discussion of the World Development Report 2019: The Changing Nature of Work. The WDR 2019 studies how the nature of work is changing as a result of advances in technology today, focusing on areas such as technological progress, new trends in global trade and investment, and shifting demographics.
Registration is required and space is limited. This event is open only to current graduate students.
