Ian Goldin, Oxford University Professor of Globalization and Development, will identify the good, the bad and the ugly dimensions of globalization, and show how it needs to be more effectively managed. He will outline how in times of accelerating change the spreading of benefits can be overwhelmed by the growing risks. The financial crisis, climate change, cyberattacks and other challenges need to be addressed, but this is not possible without addressing inequality and developing greater social cohesion. His talk will draw on his highly acclaimed new book Age of Discovery: Navigating the Risks and Rewards of Our New Renaissance. Co-Sponsored with the Center on Capitalism and Society, Columbia University
